See yourself as you would have looked as an early human.

[ ENGLISH ].......

In February 2009 The Open University had celebrated the 200th Anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth and the 150th Anniversary of his book 'On the Origin of Species' by dedicating a website to the great Charles Darwin.

On this site you can explore information about Darwin, and can also learn about Darwin's theory.

But the best part of this site is a develove me tool. By using this fun tool you can see yourself as you would have looked as an early human. You can also share the results with a friend.

Upload your photo and see yourself travel back through the evolutionary timeline... it's not an exact science but it is a lot of fun!

After uploading your photo, move the mask on your face and drag eyes, nose and mouth blocks on your image's eyes, nose and mouth. Once you are finished with this click on Devolve and see yourself travelling back through the timeline.

The devolution is shown in four different stages -

  • Australopithecus afarensis (3.7 million years ago)
  • Homo habilis (2.2 million years ago)
  • Homo erectus (1.8 million years ago)
  • Homo heidelbergensis ( 500000 years ago)
